Our name comes from the electric railway which
began operating in the East Bay in the early 1900's: The Key Route System. The B
line ran through the back of our neighborhood.
Wireless community networks are popping up all over the country.
Ours is more of a cooperative, but we do owe a
debt to the many fine people who have pioneered these networks.
Oakland is one of the most overlooked cities in California. Fabulous
people, neighborhoods, and food combined with a rich history and
a beautiful setting. If you've never visited Oakland, you're missing out.
